Terms of use

The agreement between you and [Legal entity name] for using Gradeshuttle.

Draft for legal review · Effective [date of publication]

Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Gradeshuttle for your teaching or school work. The Free plan has no time limit. You may not resell Gradeshuttle, remove its notices, or copy its code into another product.

You stay in charge of grades

Gradeshuttle helps you copy grades. It shows you every match and value before typing, protects existing grades unless you choose otherwise, and never presses your gradebook’s Save button. You are responsible for checking the values before you save them and for following your school’s grading and records policies. Please check with your school before using Gradeshuttle with student information.

  • Free trial: Pro can be tried once per computer for 7 days, with no payment details. When it ends, Gradeshuttle goes back to Free and nothing is charged.
  • Pro is unlocked with a license key. Keys are for one teacher and can’t be shared. You can buy it two ways, through our payment processor Stripe:
    • Yearly subscription ($29 a year, plus tax where it applies). It renews automatically each year on the date you bought it, and we email you a new key. Cancel any time in the billing portal; you keep Pro until the end of the year you paid for.
    • One year, paid once. It does not renew. Buy again whenever you like.
  • School and District licenses are covered by a quote or order form, which may include a privacy schedule or DPA. If those documents conflict with these terms, they take priority.
  • Refunds: within 30 days of a purchase, for any reason. If your school buys a license after you bought Pro, we refund the unused part.
  • When a paid plan ends, Gradeshuttle goes back to Free. Nothing you made is deleted.

Acceptable use

Use Gradeshuttle only on systems you’re authorized to use, and only for the transfers your role allows. Don’t use it to get around access controls, to collect data you’re not allowed to see, or in a way that breaks the terms of the platforms you use.

Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what Gradeshuttle handles. In short, student information stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

Warranty and liability

We work hard to make Gradeshuttle accurate, and we test every release. Even so, web pages change and Gradeshuttle is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that can’t be excluded.

Ending and changes

You can stop using Gradeshuttle at any time by uninstalling it. We may update these terms. If a change is material, we’ll post it here at least 30 days before it takes effect. Paid plans keep their current terms until renewal.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, unless your school’s agreement with us says otherwise. Questions: hello@gradeshuttle.com.
